From music to form.
AMEGRA takes its name from Angel Mercé Grases. After completing his musical studies in 1956, he travelled through Europe and held his first exhibition at Munich’s Charly gallery in 1959. Music remained central to his visual language: notes become colours and figurative outlines, “Amegra’s contours”. His sculptures grow from the figures first developed in his paintings.
